Liverpool star Federico Chiesa makes feelings clear amid shock transfer claims

Frederio Chiesa has broken his silence online after rumours circulated of him being unhappy at Liverpool and wanting to leave. The Italian forward moved to Merseyside in the summer from Juventus.

Since then, his time on the field has been severely limited. A lack of pre-season and fitness levels haven’t helped his cause. Adjusting to the intensity level of English football has also been a challenge. He was handed his Liverpool debut in a League Cup game against West Ham. This was 139 days ago and it remains the last time Chiesa started a football match.

Liverpool Manager Arne Slot had said earlier this month that he wasn’t concerned about Chiesa’s fitness issues, however, he admitted that the forward’s situation was not what he would have wanted.

He said: “I would not use the word concern but it is far from ideal for him and us. Because with the injury of Diogo Jota we have four attacker available, so this could have been a great moment for him to get more playing time.

“It is difficult for a player who missed out on pre-season and playing pre-season games and training sessions. You have to give a player more time to get to the intensity levels.

“It is a difficult balance to get him where we want but we are trying and he is trying everything he can to get to these levels.”

Now, after a two month hiatus from social media, the Italian player has broken his silence without using any words.

He took to Instagram to post a picture of him taking part in a training session. In the image, he is clearly seen smiling and having a good time. This is supported by his caption which solely includes a smiling emoji.

Due to his lack of appearances, last month CalcioMercato had claimed that it looked likely the Italian would return to his home country on loan. Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma were seen as possible destinations.

Although many Italian media outlets shut the idea down that the Reds were trying to return their player to Italy, Inter Live instead reported that it was Chiesa himself who could force that move. Some supporters even claimed the Italian wasn’t really injured. Instead, he was being prepared behind closed doors.

With all these rumours circulating, Liverpool fans would have been happy to see Chiesa back in team training for the first time on Friday as he gets closer to his return.
